Bollywood, is a delightful spoof on the Hollywood film industry. Within this seeming culture clash, the audience encounters a humorous merging of dance, song and story with a splash of vibrant color and exotic imagery. Ten minute dances with 100 or more dancers fill the screen with a mix of classical Indian dance, hip hop, jazz, Middle Eastern and modern choreography. The costumes are decadent, unique and caricature. Themes of Bollywood are both mythical & real, with grand displays of emotion in motion, told through a universal language of gesture and facial expression. The dances are woven like neatly wrapped packages of sarcastic, sardonic, ironic, and just plain funny interpretations myth, ethics, relationship, love and marriage.
